Short about Michael Shur

Michael Shur - a film Producer and Director.

 

After receiving a Master's Degree in film and theater directing from 'The Institute of Theater, Music and Cinema' in

St. Petersburg, Russia,  he had the honor of producing two Russian feature films in 1975 and 1984. He  have also produced numerous documentary films and commercials. In 1974, he  had the greatest honor to be an assistant to the director on the film 'Blue Bird' staring Elizabeth Taylor, working along side Director George Cukor. At the time, 'Blue Bird' was produced by 20th Century Fox and Leningrad Studio, Lenfilm.

 

Being a Jazz Piano musician and a lover of music, he have met and had the privilege to play with musicians such as Duke Ellinton and John Gonzales. Ultimate, he loves for music inspired me to produce a documentary portraying Russian Jazz for distribution in the U.S.

 

 

Over the years he  had worked on countless biographical documentaries, corporate videos, and legal films. He have collaborated and did freelance work for major networks providing them with archival documentary footage from the Former Soviet Union. He have assisted in legal film making and distribution of films to the Former Soviet Union. He also have extensive foreign language voice over (including work on the feature film 'Maggi and Me' English to Russian), narrator dubbing, and credit translation experience.
